Does anybody really know what time it is in another part of the world? They’d better with this clock and calendar application, as long as they don’t depend on the Day/Night view.
A small world map atop two digital displays is WorldClock’s primary interface, but other views are available. The gist of this utility is to see local time next to the time at some remote locale. You pick the alternate time by clicking anywhere on a world map. It’s too bad the map is too small for more than a general area selection. Luckily, WorldClock offers a clickable list of place names to select the second time display.
This utility hijacks your taskbar time display, but does make it simple to change the font, color, position and size of the time. We liked the Day/Night concept: a small map that is supposed to display where day and night areas are on a world map. It’s too bad it never worked for our testers. A newsroom-style set of four clocks is available with easily set locations, but we were disappointed we couldn’t change that display size. Eight alarms are available, but many preferences cannot be saved with this demoware.
At 4.8MB, it requires more memory than we’d expect for such an app. This standard clock display utility isn’t above all the rest, but it is stable and may fill a need for a small number of users.
